Dr Kamaruzaman Bin Noordin

Chairman, Shariah Advisory Panel

Dr Kamaruzaman is a Registered Shariah Advisor with the Securities Commission.
Currently, he actively holds the following responsibilities:

  • Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Islamic Studies (Department of Shariah and Management), University of Malaya (UM)
  • Chairman of the Shariah Committee at Swiss Re Retakaful
  • Member of Shariah Committee at RHB Islamic Bank Berhad
  • Member of Shariah Committee at BSN
  • Member of the Shariah Advisory Committee for Employees Provident Fund (EPF).

He holds a PhD in Islamic Finance (University of Wales, United Kingdom), a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Shariah (University of Malaya).

Ustaz Mohd Fadhli Bin Mohd Faudzi

Member, Shariah Advisory Panel

Ustaz Mohd Fadhli is an accomplished Shariah advisor. He speaks extensively on matters relating to Shariah and Islamic finance at panel discussions and seminars.

Currently, he actively holds the following responsibilities:

  • Managing Director & Founder of Mytijaroh Resources – which provides training and consultancy services in Fiqh Muamalat, Islamic finance and motivation.
  • Internal Shariah Adviser at Brighton Management Limited (Labuan Offshore)
  • Shariah Adviser for Allied World Assurance Company Ltd. (Labuan Offshore)
  • Serves on the Accreditation Panel of Finance Accreditation Agency, an agency regulated under Bank Negara Malaysia and the Securities Commission.
  • Panel Lecturer, Institut Latihan Islam Malaysia (ILIM)
  • Islamic Finance Trainer at International Halal Foundation Academy.

He has previously held senior positions in banking, takaful, retakaful and business including:

  • Shariah Adviser, Akademi Mutawwif Training & Consultancy
  • Deputy Head of Shariah Department, Bank Muamalat Malaysia Berhad
  • Head of Shariah and Compliance, Malaysian and Bahrain offices of ACR ReTakaful
  • Assistant Vice President of Shariah Compliance and Shariah Audit, Al Rajhi Banking & Investment Corporation
  • Shariah Personnel, Takaful Ikhlas Sdn. Bhd.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage (International Islamic University Malaysia).

Dr Muhamad Azhari Wahid

Member, Shariah Advisory Panel

Dr Muhamad Azhari Wahid’s areas of concentration include governance of Islamic banking, management of Islamic banking and takaful institutions, and the principles and practices of Islamic banking and business management.

He is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Muamalat, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia. He has previously worked in the banking industry, having held the position of Assistant Manager, Shariah Department at Bank Muamalat.

Dr Azhari qualified as a Chartered Islamic Finance Professional at the International Centre For Education in Islamic Finance, Malaysia. He holds a PhD in Islamic Banking, Finance and Management from Markfield Institute of Higher Education, UK and a Bachelor’s degree in Fiqh and Usul Fiqh, International Islamic University Malaysia.
